Design Considerations 

Glitter DTF works best with designs that have a sufficient coverage area for the sparkle effect to show prominently. Bold graphics, text, and solid design elements display the glitter effect most effectively. Fine details may not showcase the glitter as dramatically as larger design areas.

Follow these steps to ensure professional application of your Glitter DTF transfers.

Step 1 - Pre-Press Not Required. Glitter DTF transfers do not require pre-pressing or pre-ironing to remove moisture and wrinkles. Pre-press only if you prefer, but it's not necessary for quality results.

Step 2 - Position Your Design. Position your transfer in the desired location and ensure it lies flat before pressing. You can press across seams, including 6-panel hats and t-shirt side seams. Use heat-resistant tape when pressing hats or using household irons to prevent transfer movement.

Step 3 - Press and Peel Process. Press the transfer at 310°F (155°C) with medium to high pressure for approximately 12 seconds. Test one piece first to determine optimal settings. Use parchment paper to protect your garment from direct heat contact.

Wait a few seconds, then peel the transfer film. If parts of the design don't adhere properly, reposition and press again with increased pressure and temperature (+15°F). Continue adjusting heat by 15°F increments until transfer adheres correctly.

For scorching issues, reduce pressure first. If problems persist, maintain reduced pressure and lower temperature by 10-15°F.

Step 4 - Final Press. After removing the transfer film, cover the design with parchment paper and press for 15 seconds. This crucial step enhances durability and softness while reducing shine, creating a superior finished product.

Does the glitter flake off or shed over time? 

No, the glitter is embedded within the transfer material during the printing process, not applied on the surface. This means the sparkle effect is permanent and won't flake off with washing or normal wear, unlike traditional glitter applications.

Can I combine glitter effects with regular DTF designs on the same gang sheet? 

No, glitter DTF requires a different printing process than standard DTF transfers. You'll need to create separate orders - one for regular DTF designs and another for glitter DTF designs - as they cannot be combined on the same sheet.

Will the glitter effect show up on dark-colored garments? 

Yes, glitter DTF transfers work on both light and dark fabrics. The glitter particles reflect light regardless of the garment's color underneath, though the sparkle may appear more dramatic on darker backgrounds due to contrast.

How much extra sparkle should I expect compared to regular transfers? 

Glitter DTF adds a consistent sparkle across your entire design area. The effect is noticeable but sophisticated. Not overwhelming like loose craft glitter. The sparkle enhances your design colors rather than covering them completely.

Are the pressing instructions the same as regular DTF transfers? 

Yes, glitter DTF uses the same pressing instructions as standard DTF transfers: 310°F for 12 seconds, followed by a final 15-second press after peeling. The glitter particles are integrated into the transfer material, so no special pressing techniques are required.
