Follow these four simple steps to ensure your UV DTF transfers stick perfectly.
Step 1: Prep Surface. Clean your surface with soap and water or a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water. The cleaner the surface, the longer your transfer lasts.
Cut out your transfer and place it face down with the white side up. Use the padded end of your squeegee and run over the entire design with hard pressure. Go back and forth 2-4 times. Apply extra pressure on thin lines and small text elements.
Step 2: Prepare for Transfer. Gently peel the two sheets apart while watching to ensure the whole design lifts onto the carrier sheet. Peel slowly with your eyes, not just your hands. For designs with thin lines and small text, peel extra slowly. If parts don't lift, re-squeegee from behind and try peeling from a different angle.
Step 3: Place on Your Item. Identify where you want your design placed.
For smaller designs (4 inches and under), carefully place the design with both hands controlling placement.
For larger designs (6 inches and larger), start from one side and work to the other. This helps control placement, reduces bubbles, and prevents wrinkling. Leave a corner of the carrier sheet unattached for easy peeling later.
Step 4: Complete the Transfer. After placing your design, firmly squeegee it 2-4 times. Peel slowly while watching to ensure all elements stick. Use your eyes to guide the process. If any part doesn't stick, lay the carrier sheet back down, re-squeegee, and try peeling from a different angle.
